Don’t ask me what’s going on at Samsung’s. At last year’s MWC, they were so happy with Symbian that they planned to move the entire Omnia line from WM. Three months later, the line switched back to Windows Mobile.
With all of the confusion in the market, I can well understand that some of my colleagues misinterpreted the quote below (via DigiTimes):

Samsung Electronics will continue to adopt Windows Mobile- and Android-based platforms for new smartphones launched in 2010, with another focus on in-house developed open operating system Samsung Bada, according to senior vice president Don Joo Lee. The executive added that Samsung may not roll out new Symbian-based models globally in 2010.

This being Samsung, we could very well expect them to end their Symbian plans anytime. However, they could also go on to produce boxen targeted at few markets in a fashion similar to their former Palm OS products – which could make the situation very interesting. BTW: they did that for some time with their S60 products (before the HD)…
So, watch this space – and don’t trust news services who overdramatize their content.
