The Symbian Foundation has just released another significant package of source code – the kernel is now available under the EPL:
symbian kernel open source Symbian Foundation releases kernel sources

Even though this announcement is unlikely to bring the foundation more kernel developers, I predict that Joe developer will benefit a lot for one simple reason: the current Symbian emulator is horrible.

If a QEMU-powered image of the hardware would become available, I am pretty sure that the situation will improve significantly.
