In Austria, all things take a bit of time – which is why Yours Truly didn’t have the time to link up with his pal at a big Austrian electronics store for quite some time. Nevertheless, I happened to be close-by a few days ago…and got the following highly interesting bits of info for you all:

XPressMusic 5800: free with contract
First of all: the Austrian carrier tele.ring currently gives the XPressMusic 5800 away with one of its contracts – if you are willing to pay 25 Euros a month for 24 months, you can take the XM 5800 home for free:
Austrian retailer talks XPressMusic 5800 and Nokia in general

XPressMusic 5800 still sells badly
Unfortunately, the offer above doesn’t make the 5800 a best seller. Her store has sold but 35 of them since its release – 10 of them were sold unlocked (for a whooping 379 Euros), while the rest went out via the offer above.

She explicitly said that the XPressMusic 5800 sells badly – “a hit phone for sure looks different”.

N95 8GB back as N96 sucks
Finally, I was told about a very weird thing regarding Nokia’s top N-Series devices. The N95 8GB has not been delivered to his store for the last 6 months. However, it suddenly popped up again a few days ago…and has beaten the N96 immediately in terms of unlocked sales.

According to him, the N96 is a “rotten seller and an even worse phone”…

P.S. In case anybody wonders about why I keep swapping genders: there are quite a few corporate secret managers reading the Tamoggemon Content Network (one of which still hasn’t sold his car)…
