Even though VGA screens get cheaper by the minute, Nokia remains one of the few manufacturers who stick to the tired-and-true QVGA format all over the lineup. The E71 comes with a landscape-mode screen, which leads to a resolution of 320×240. But can it stack up?

Our first contender is the Treo 680. Two years ago, its screen was top-of-class…and it has no problems dispatching the E71:

HP’s ipaq rx4240 is even better than the Treo 680, and has no issues with the E71 either:

Next up is the Nokia E71’s closest sibling aka E66. Its screen is a lot better:

Finally, here are a few shots next to my tired-and-true N71:

In the end, the E71’s screen is nothing to write a poem about. It gets its job done well and is decently readable under all lighting conditions…which is all one can demand from a business device…
