21122008104T Nokia Navigation ads pop up in ViennaI can’t say that I like my N96’s Nokia Maps too much: the permanent buy-this, buy-that alerts on a 700€ phone go on my nerves heavily. Nevertheless, our friends seem to be confident about the appeal of their product – the ad seen on the left has recently begun to pop up at the Vienniese Western Railway Station.

The ad’s tag line translates to: “Vienna is beautiful – discover it with Nokia Navigation” (6210, 6220, E71 – no mention of Maps). The URL below points to www.nokia.com/navigation. Pictures of a few Nokia handsets (N96 notably absent) and a QR code allowing bystanders to “win a nokia GPS phone” complete the offering.

I have to admit that I am not sure who the boys with the N in their name want to target this ad – Vienniese folks usually know where to go, while most tourists will not be able to read the German text.

Furthermore, the avoidance of the term Maps is interesting – could it be that more and more folks start to develop a deep loathing for the program?
