After having posted extracts from the keynotes held on the first day of the show, here is the second part. I omitted the TrollTech keynote as it was made up of self-adulation and contained little useful information.
Intro
Symbian’s presentator felt like treating readers to a small video describing their view of the Symbian Foundation:
Nokia
Dr. Kai Ostamo’s presentation was originally called “the future of smartphones” – he changed it to read “the future of computers” instead. He talked about customer segmentation, Nokia’s plans for the future and about customer segmentation.
BTW: the car shown at the beginning of the video was ShakerRacer…the FH Hagenberg’s boys unfortunately were not mentioned in any way…
Sony Ericsson
Sony Ericsson is the second UIQ victim. Unsurprisingly, the company did not speak about future Symbian products (the booth also was devoid of Symbian stuff).
The talk was focused on user interaction and the newly-announced project Capuchin, which is said to combine J2ME and Flash Lite:
