I have to profusely apologize for the delay with this post, but I was overwhelmed with work at the floor and didn’t have time to do anything. I currently work on videos of two of the keynotes (missed one due to flight delays) – in the mean time, please enjoy the impressions below:

Venue
Last year’s venue was badly located – this year, Symbian chose the highly prominent Earl’s Court. The show itself was in part two of the building: architecture freaks will like the shots below:

Tube access to the venue is excellent: unfortunately, the lighting has an extremely annoying orange/red tint…

Symbian booth
Symbian’s booth consisted of a huge amount of scaffolding:

Inside, the usual hodgepodge of demos, tech demos and other stuff where shown:

A time line of Symbian devices can be found at the back of the booth as the company currently celebrates its tenth anniversary:

Samsung booth
As usual, Samsung had a huge booth. Actually, this year’s booth was even larger than last year’s:

Most of it was dedicated to the INNOV8 – more on this booth soon!

Motorola booth
Motorola’s booth has been slimmed down to the bare bones – performers and other funny things are nowhere to be found nowadays. All that remains is a developer shack and a single demo Z10. As the attendants refused to let me photograph their pathetic booth, the shot below is all I have:

Sony Ericsson booth
UIQ injured #2 expressed his dissatisfaction with a small booth focused on developer offerings:

RIM booth
As Nokia is busy stripping its phones of Blackberry support, I wonder why the RIM folks bothered to purchase a (small) stand:

Old friends
Our Shaker Racer boys make an unexpected cameo appearance:

Like Joerg Haider, Nagel Clifford faced health issues after raising to the zenith of success. He had a broken arm – the Tamoggemon content team wishes him good, fast and painless recovery!

With this, the first impressions end. Stay tuned for keynote videos, cool apps, a small torture test with FOMA handsets and information on booth prices and next year’s venue…
