Don’t ask me how the folks at Proporta’s do it – but they manage to have their aluminum-leather cases ready in time for when reviewers get device samples almost every time. My Nokia N78 arrived – and the case came along. But can it stack up?

As usual, Proporta’s stuff ships in envelopes via regular mail. As their products usually come packed up into little blisters, receiving damaged stuff is a non-issue. Furthermore, letters can be delivered while you are not at home – a big advantage over boxes…

The case itself ships with Proporta’s standard belt clip:

Getting the phone into the case is easy – just slide it in from above. Even though their friction lock system doesn’t look too trust-invoking, it has protected my devices in more than one highly critical situation (think road accident):

Once the phone is in the case, it remains perfectly usable.

A cutout at the back allows the camera to function even while in the case:

Headphones can be connected without opening the case – a cutout at the top is available:

The clamps are strategically placed and don’t obstruct anything – typical Proporta marksmanship:

I guess that most of you already know what comes now. Good case. Period. Proporta is in the business for so long that they are very unlikely to make stupid mistakes – their cases almost always turn out well. The price of 35$ is justified…
