The last few N-Series devices that hit our desks didn’t impress due to their reddish screens. Will the N78 continue the downward trend? Or have we seen the worst?

Our first contender is the Nokia N95 8GB. When held next to a N78, its (huge) screen appears a little yellowish:

The screen used in Palm’s Treo 680 was considered the cream of the crop two years ago. Today, the N78’s screen beats it effortlessly:

Finally, here’s a trial run against our faithful Nokia N71:

In the end, the N78’s display is surprisingly good. Its colors are clean, contrast is high: there is little not to like except for the small size. Evil-spirited folks could claim that Nokia cast pearls before swine – but there really isn’t anything bad to say about the N78’s screen.
