Nokia and Clamshells never was too well a match: the company originally missed the train, and still didn’t manage to catch up completely. As the N76 was a total catastrophe, Nokia N71 owners are left in the rain.
T-Mobile Austria recently started to field the Nokia 6650 clamshell powered by S60 along the iPhone 3G..can it stack up?
The phone is presented in a pretty aggressive fashion, even though the iPhone definitely gets more floor space. The T-Mobile store I was at didn’t have an operating 6650 on display: all of the devices on display were dummies(except for an iPhone or two):

People who want to get their hands on a 6650 can do so immediately – the device costs 49 Euros with a rather expensive 2yr contract with data. Interestingly, the Nokia E51 is more expensive with the most expensive contract, but is cheaper as handset prices raise due to cheaper contracts:

Unfortunately, part one ends here as I was booted out of the T-Mobile store. The boys with the T have proven themselves total idiots in the past, and did so again today. Apparently, they do not want people to cover devices that they have exclusively…which IMHO beats the purpose of exclusivity…
But the excursion isn’t over…as I found another 6650 in another store. Tune in soon for more!
