So far, Opera for S60 has been an excellent browser - I really enjoyed using it on my Nokia N71.

However, the Opera team recently fired up a blog post announcing a beta of Opera 9.5 for Windows Mobile (available on July the 15th) - Symbian was not mentioned anywhere.
We have sent an inquiry to Opera yesterday - and while the company usually responds very fast, the silence that followed can be considered a very bad sign…
Do you think that Opera 9.5 will ever hit S60 and/or UIQ?

Opera 9.5 should work on both (S60 and UIQ3) phones so why worry?
Those are much more profitable products than old Windows for PDA and Windows for Mobiles product lines.
At least I’m waiting it anxiously, because:
1. I need proper SVG support to get my clips working;
2. I need XSLT support to get rid of HTML conversion in my blogging/content publishing platform.
You’re only touching the tip of the iceberg of frustration that a lot of us are feeling. So far though there’s been no retraction of the original press release which stated that Opera Mobile 9.5 would be for s60, UIQ, Windows Mobile and Linux phones, so we’re all cautiously optimistic. But you’re right, the silence isn’t a good sign…
Opera v9.5 will be available for Symbian phones there is no doubt especially considering it’s confirmed that some of upcoming UIQ phones will use it as default web browser.

Hi Folks,
having the browser RUN does not mean that is released.
Anybody from the Palm, Os hemisphere remember NetFront (which was used on Sony Clie handhelds)?
It never quite hit other handhelds, even though it COULD be run with some trickery…
