Liberator, the recently-announced first-person shooter from VastScale has finally made it onto my trusty Nokia N71 for a torture test - the Google Video video below gives you a first impression:

VastScale’s graphics engine is based around a very intelligent concept - while moving, the engine renders only the most necessary things. Once you stand still, the display “clears up” as more and more things are rendered in each iteration.

Cutting a long story short: on my 206MhZ N71, the game is totally unplayable. The engine manages to generate one to two frames per second; and the graphics quality is so bad that you have to wait two or three seconds(while standing still) for it to be able to actually see where you are going. The frequent crashing of the application didn’t help the gameplay either…
