Many S60 fans consider Samsung’s latest hyper-phone(the G810) superior to (or at least on par with) Nokia’s upcoming devices. But can it really stack up?
Samsung’s marketing department tags the device as an “almighty multimedia computer”:

Here’s a shot of the überbox next to a Treo 680 and a Nokia N71. Our almighty phone is almost as thick as a Treo 680:

The image below shows the other side of the box(battery lid removed in order to install anti-theft system):

Sliding down the bottom part of the phone reveals the keyboard. Unfortunately, somebody at Samsung’s made the bone-headed decision to replace the menu symbol with a vertical dash – that way, people who are used to S60 have a hard time finding the start menu when handling the device for the first time:

Last but not least, here’s a short Google Video looking at the Samsung G810:

In the end, the hype surrounding the G810 IMHO is justified – especially if it would ship with the debug tools remaining in the launcher(hey, I may dream too). Jokes aside, we are looking at a very solid S60 phone here. If Samsung changes the button’s design in order to better fit into the S60 look and feel and keeps the prices at a somewhat sane level, there is little not to like here…
