News on Nokia’s US plans

Most developers I know sell most of their applications in the USA. Thus, Nokia’s rather weak US market share is a major deterrent for bigger S60 projects. Anyways, the company is aware of the problem and seems to work aggressively on increasing its market share. After having released two US-only versions of the N95 a few days ago, various sources have now leaked the following:

Random Nokia phone passes FCC
Engadget has found FCC documentation indicating that Nokia is working on a CDMA phone that supports EVDO and has a bluetooth transmitter.

Unfortunately, no further information is available as of now.

8 to 12 US phones in 2008
Reuters managed to get a quote off the newly-appointed “president for North America”(what a name). He claims that it is not unreasonable you’d see between six to 12 new operator-specific devices this year. It’ll probably be more than this
