Motorola Z10 family gets inofficial name

TamsS60 was the first news service that reported about the Motorola Z10(the device was shown at the Symbian Show in London all the time…but apparently none of my colleagues had the BallZ to photograph it…).

Even though the Z10 hasn’t materialized in customer’s hands yet, the rumor mills are spinning yet again. This time, they report about a device family called ZINE that will include a touchscreened successor to the Z10, complete with WiFi and GPS.

The company has already trademarked the name ZINE; an extremely blurry shot of the machine mentioned above has also popped up recently.

As of now, no further information is available - rest assured that we will keep you posted!

Flash Lite 3 Developer edition drops

My long-time comrade Alessandro has posted a nice bit of information about the recently-released developer edition of Flash Lite 3 to his blog biskero.org.

Cutting a long story short, end users who do not develop applications in Flash Lite will not benefit much from this - Flash Lite 3 is a standalone player that does not integrate into web browsers or other applications. It is intended only for people who develop Flash Lite apps and want to find out if their apps will perform well on Flash Lite 3.

Anyways, the full scoop is here:

Free UIQ ebook: UIQ 3: The Complete Guide

People who currently develop applications for S60, rejoice - entering the UIQ market now is easier than ever before. The company behind the Symbian interface used by SonyEricsson and Motorola has just begun putting online chapters from an upcoming book called UIQ 3: The Complete Guide:
http://books.uiq.com/index.php/Main_Page

Currently, chapters can only be downloaded for local viewing - editing them online is not possible. However, the web page promises that the full book will become available for downloading and editing as soon as the book has gone into print.
