Nokia’s N71 has proven to be a very reliable and sturdy phone in everyday usage – its successor(Nokia N76) has not impressed me particularily due to its way-too-teeny design. Teenily designed handsets classically have problems with their paint chipping off(e.g. Palm Zire 72)…and the Nokia N76′s chrome finish seems to be a serious issue.

TamsS60 reader Marco has just sent us the following responding to our request for images(thank you):

Attached some photos from my N76 phone with chrome peeling. Nokia Hong Kong repairing center replace covers “free of charge” as I have Nokia Care agreement. What so ever, they told that this is a big problem for Nokia in this model. Chrome start to peel off from my phone after one week use and it was very obvious after two week use.
